Gravity Adventures Bain`s Kloof Pass Canyoning

A perfect way to spend a day in the mountains. This MicroAdventure will get you back in touch with nature in one of Cape Towns best ‘Hidden secrets’. This 30 kilometres (19 mi) pass was completed in 1853 and is one of the most picturesque passes in the Cape. The trip includes a short hike up to the upper reaches of the Witte River and then you'll make your way down the canyon, swimming, rock hopping and doing a few voluntary jumps. We end at Eerste Tol, where we parked our cars.

What is Kloofing?
Kloofing is exploring a river course by foot, swimming and jumping into crystal clear pools. You will wear a helmet and wetsuit to protect you from the sun and in case of slipping rocks. The section we do is only around 2 km but offers beautiful scenery. It is available for all ages from 10 years to older but will require some basic fitness and agility.

When - Every day in summer, subject to availability. Closed between Dec 24 and Jan 02.

Weather - Weather dependent Service

Wear - Swimming costume, wetsuit, good walking shoes that can get wet, peak cap for sun.

Bring - A light windbreaker is recommended
